For The Benefit of ALL

Manufacturers, employers and workers all take health and safety issues seriously.

RoofersThe United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers Local No. 2 is committed to the health and safety of its members. We are proud of our history of proper training and instruction that has resulted in an excellent safety record.

All members are instructed in our Safety and Health Program about fall protection, material handling, product safety, CPR training, asbestos protection and other items relating the welfare of the worker. Local No. 2 management strictly adheres to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations and guidelines, as well as to the safety policies established by the International Roofing and Waterproofing Union. The International Union also has a Safety and Health Program that continually monitors the working conditions of members and makes recommendations for change when necessary.

RoofersIn recent years, a Safety-Monitoring System has been implemented to further protect employees. The system involves have one person continually monitor the job site and roofing crew. In addition, warning lines consisting of rope, wire or chain are erected around all sides of the work area. An employee then monitors the safety of work performed near the roof edge. Guardrails and new guidelines on the use and storage of mechanical equipment are also in place.

Members of Local No. 2 are committed to the trade, to the industry and to policies and guidelines in place for a safe work environment.
