The Industry Advancement Fund, established by Roofers Local No. 2 and the Signatory Roofing Contractors, recently donated labor and materials to a project for Habitat for Humanity.
The contractors installed flat roof systems on a town home development in North St. Louis, MO. Three signatory roofing contractor employees installed the roof system with the materials and the employees’ wages and benefits donated by the IAF. The residential development is part of a neighborhood revitalization program underway in the area. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat for Humanity builds and rehabilitates houses with the help and sweat of equity of partner families.
“We are happy to help with this important project,” notes Doug Jones, Chairman of the IAF Committee. “We believe in supporting the community where we live and work by sharing our time and talent for the benefit of others.”
The United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers Local No. 2 office is located at 2920 Locust Street in St. Louis. The Industry Advancement Fund was established to maintain and promote the unionized roofing industry in Missouri and Illinois and is funded by the Signatory Roofing Contractors.
