The Industry Advancement Fund, established by Roofers Local No. 2 and the Signatory Roofing Contractors, recently donated labor and materials to a project for Habitat for Humanity. The contractors installed flat roof systems on a new housing development as part of a revitalization project in North St. Louis, MO.
“This project and others like it help us reflect on our future and labor’s future in our country,” said Eric Kirberg, who coordinated the project for the IAF. “We will always try to reach out and give back to the community.”
The Habitat for Humanity development includes construction of 60 homes, several of which will have flat roof systems. The flat roof design allows for additional space on the second floor while remaining similar in appearance to existing homes in the area. The homes are being built as part of a neighborhood revitalization project near Union and Page Blvd.
